RESToRATIon EPIPHONE NEWPORT 1964
This Epiphone newport was rescued from a recycle shop.
It had a horrendous white finish and a Union Jack painted on the headstock. Plus it had a three point bridge. Someone had plugged the original inserts with toilet paper and non fitting screws. And as an extra this Newport had a non-original bridge pickup plus toggle switch (which I didn't mind at all that much). |
First thing I did when I brought it home, was swap the three point bridge for an original two pointer. A while later I removed the Union Jack. With cotton tips and thinner. Lo and behold the original Epiphone logo appeared from under the Union Jack! I played it in this state for a couple of years. Until I decided to bring it back to former glory in the original color.
