The concept
This bass combines the 1964 Gibson Thunderbird II with the 1958 Gibson Flying V guitar. A nine ply neck through construction just like the Thunderbird. But with mahogany veneer strips in between the korina. The body wings are Korina too. The nickel covered humbuckers resemble the pickup of the sixties Thunderbird. The shape of the headstock echoes the Flying V headstock, but the ebony veneer on top is a nod to the Thunderbird headstock.
The shape of the body is slightly altered to make the bridge sit as far back as possible. Making the total length 126 cm.
This is a tribute to two classic instruments. Merged into one.
