BUILD PROCESS
THE CONCEPT
This bass is an obvious nod to the very first 12-string bass ever made: The Quad Bass by Jol Dantzig form Hamer, which was built for Tom Petersson back in 1978. But I did change (quite) a few things. Such as the scale length; the original was short scale, but I chose to make it 34" scale. The original had a mixing console in the recessed part of the body. But I chose to put in two effects instead. A Sans-Amp type overdrive and an Aguilar Compressor.
Plus the Brooks "quad-bucker" is a custom made pickup that consist of two Nordstrand NM4 pickups wired together. The staggered pole-pieces allow for perfect string sensitivity. The Brooks QB has two separate output jacks.
